Ekurhuleni West College (EWC) has warmly welcomed back three of its students following their successful completion of an enriching Chinese Culture exchange program in the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
Ntshidiseng Sabasaba, Caroline Malatji, and Zazi Kenneth Ndebele have returned with a wealth of new skills and invaluable experiences after completing an intensive internship focused on E-Commerce and Cross-Border E-Commerce.
The program provided the EWC students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of Chinese digital commerce. Through hands-on experience and expert guidance, Sabasaba, Malatji, and Ndebele gained practical knowledge in areas crucial for navigating the increasingly globalized marketplace.
Their newly acquired skills in E-Commerce strategies, online marketing, and the intricacies of cross-border transactions are expected to significantly boost their prospects in their future professional journeys.
Beyond the academic and professional development, the exchange program offered the students a profound cultural immersion. They were able to explore the vibrant cities of China, witness its rich historical heritage, and connect with the local people firsthand. This direct exposure to a different culture has undoubtedly broadened their perspectives and fostered a deeper understanding of global interconnectedness.
Speaking about their experience, the students expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity. “It was an eye-opening experience,” shared Ntshidiseng Sabasaba. “Learning about E-Commerce in such a thriving digital economy like China was incredible, but also experiencing the culture and meeting the people was truly unforgettable.”
Caroline Malatji echoed this sentiment, highlighting the personal growth she experienced.
“This program pushed me outside of my comfort zone and I learned so much, not just about E-Commerce, but also about myself and the world. I feel much more confident about my future career now.”
Zazi Kenneth Ndebele emphasized the practical skills gained.
“The internship was very hands-on. We weren’t just observing; we were actively involved in projects. The knowledge I gained about cross-border E-Commerce is something I know will be incredibly valuable.”
Ekurhuleni West College views such international exchange programs as vital in equipping its students with the skills and global awareness necessary to succeed in today’s interconnected world.
The partnership with the PRC facilitates these annual opportunities, allowing EWC students to gain a competitive edge and broaden their horizons.
The successful return of Sabasaba, Malatji, and Ndebele marks another milestone in EWC’s commitment to providing holistic and globally relevant education. The college looks forward to continuing its partnership with the PRC and offering future students similar transformative experiences that contribute to their personal and professional growth, ultimately enriching the South African workforce with globally competent individuals.
The experiences of these three students serve as an inspiration for others at EWC to seize such opportunities and embrace the possibilities of international collaboration.
