On March 29, 2025, the Binang Foundation held a deeply moving and inspiring event at KZ Lodge.

The gathering provided a crucial platform for mothers of children born with cerebral palsy (CP) to share their experiences, challenges, and knowledge about raising their children.

The event was filled with raw emotions as these strong women opened their hearts, shedding light on their daily struggles and triumphs.

The mothers bravely shared the complexities of raising children with CP, expressing the difficulties they face and the emotional burden they carry. Some questioned why they were given such a responsibility, wondering if they were cursed or if they were alone in their struggles.

One mother shared the exhausting routine of taking her child to the hospital every week, a reality for many parents dealing with the condition. Despite the hardships, these mothers stood resilient, offering each other support and guidance.

The event was not only a space for emotional release but also a source of education and empowerment. Mothers exchanged valuable tips and ideas on how to better care for their children, emphasizing the importance of understanding and patience. Among the attendees was a social worker who reassured the families of continuous support and assistance. Their presence reinforced the message that no family should have to navigate this journey alone.

The event also received special support from Tuks Senganga, the artist behind the Skeem Saam intro song. Invited by the ever-supportive Ngotli M, Tuks Senganga’s presence added a warm and encouraging atmosphere, showing solidarity with the families and the cause.

The day’s proceedings were expertly directed by Lebogang and Ausi Daisy, who ensured that the voices of all participants were heard.

They facilitated an inclusive environment where even individuals with CP who had reached 18 years and older could share their experiences. Their dedication and passion were evident in the seamless execution of the event, which left attendees feeling uplifted and understood.

The Binang Foundation has committed to holding four such events annually, creating a consistent space for families dealing with cerebral palsy to receive support, share knowledge, and build a community of strength and hope.

These gatherings stand as a testament to the power of unity and the unwavering determination of families to provide the best possible lives for their children.

As the event concluded, it was clear that Binang Foundation’s efforts are making a profound impact. Through continued awareness and collective support, the foundation is fostering an environment where families no longer feel isolated in their struggles but rather embraced by a network of love and understanding.
