2026 China–South Africa Human Rights Seminar was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Aug 27. Under the theme “Common Modernization and Human Rights Development”, the seminar brought together around 60 officials, experts and scholars from China, South Africa and other countries. Participants discussed on topics including China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and the shared right to development in the new context, green transition and human rights protection, and advancing human rights through the modernization of social governance.
