Pankop community and various public figures, including stakeholder’s, are mourning the loss of the renowned Patrick Kgosana -Mmakadikwe who was remembered as an icon for his significant contribution to his field of community participation. The loss of such prominent individual prompts widespread grief, with many paying tribute to his legacy and impact.

Patrick was born on 22 May 1987 in Marapyane village in the Dr JS Moroka municipality in the Mpumalanga province. Family’s spokesperson Samuel Makadikwe, said his brother passedout after short illness, in Mmametlhake hospital last Thursday.

“We gathered here today in memory of our dear colleague Patrick ‘Nkaiye’ Kgosana-Mmakadikwe. we heard that he was no more we were shocked and saddened. Death has taken away a genuinely warm individual, more importantly a loving brother deprived so many others, including us all, of a good friend,” Said BBM (Batlhanka Ba Morena) youth leader Ramotanki Phineas Lekalakala.

Amongst other speakers Bellah Khalo said, we pay tribute and celebrate a life that was well lived.

A life committed to the cause of freedom in his area; and when Not many leave behind a legacy of such dedication and accomplishment.

He faced a challenge to his life by way of a grave illness, with great courage. Many others in his circumstance would have given up. Patrick ‘Nkaiye’ fought till the last.

His determination to carry on despite trying personal circumstances demonstrated his commitment to duties and responsibilities. In his own quiet and calm manner, he showed how to work through challenging times and to carry everyone along particularly those whose were conflicted.

Pankop Troops veteran Jonas Ratlhagana said, “Life can be fleeting. But a life lived to the fullest stays in fond memories. Patrick through his decorum and grace endeared himself to many. This is particularly a difficult and painful time for his family. In extending to them our heartfelt condolences, we wish them courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

Patrick ‘Nkaiye’ Khosana-Mmakadikwe, he will be send to his final resting place on Friday 17th October 2025, in Itsoseng cemetery in Masone/Pankop village.
